Do You Know The Way to Santa Fe? (with apologies to Burt Bacharach)

Another fantastic day with amazing weather and great highway. We left Santa Rosa New Mexico and Mike took us by way of old Route 66, which was part of the original Santa Fe Trail, to Pecos Historical National Park. The park is comprised of preserved ruins of the Pecos tribe of the Pueblo indigenous peoples. Not only was it an amazing site with incredible vistas, but the museum at the visitor center which depicts the timeline and lives of the Pecos was fascinating. The museum is very well done, and well worth a visit.

After our time at the park site, we drove on to Santa Fe, and had another incredible lunch. This time at a Mexican restaurant called “The Shed”, a spot that Michael and Karla (Mike’s wife and my sister-in-law) have visited multiple times on their excursions to Santa Fe. After lunch we did a bit of sight seeing in Santa Fe. It is a beautiful town which has retained much of its “old west” charm.

Staying in Sante Fe this evening, and traveling tomorrow to Albuquerque where we will be attending another Cystic Fibrosis event!
